Interlude Ceramics

mugs by Interlude with quirky angled handle

Interlude Ceramics was started in 2000 by Mary Chappelhow after she gained a first class honours degree in design crafts from Cumbria Institute of the Arts.

Mary creates a wide range of ceramics, including a range of piereced decorative vases and bowls, earthenware and stoneware dinner services and many other one off items both decorative and functional. She uses a wide variety of clays and glazes to create her unique designs. We stock some of her mugs and other items, each lovingly glazed to match the seasons in Spring Green, Summer Blue, Autumn and Winter White.

Ian Markham

dark blue oil burner by Ian Markham

Ian Markham's deep blue pottery is easy to spot on the shelf. From his range we stock the following 'must have' items:

Egg Separator yes it works!
Oil Burner
Small Jug

Each item is in Ian's signature blue colour and where applicable has instructions.

The egg separater doesn't come with instructions but it's easy enough to use. Crack the egg, drop the yolk and white into the separator and then pour out the white into a clean, grease free bowl. You could use the yolks for a mousse, to enrichen an omelette made with full eggs, to glaze pastry or lightly cook them until firm and chop up and add to a salad. the white of the egg can be used for meringues, whipped and added to a creamy fool to lighten it etc. However do be careful and try not to give uncooked egg to children, the elderly, pregnant women or those with compromised immune systems.

The jugs are ideal for water, juices, cream or milk at the table or you can just use them as decorative items on a shelf or in a cabinet with your other collectibles.
